Giving has always been a core part of CrossFit Burlington, not as an obligation, but as a reflection of who we are and what we believe in.
We believe deeply in the power of fitness to change lives, physically, mentally, and emotionally. At CFB, that belief extends beyond the walls of our gym. When we’re able to give back and support the people and organizations doing important work in our community, it’s something we feel strongly called to do.
Many of us come to the gym for physical health, but we stay because of the connection. Giving is one of the ways we strengthen that connection. It reminds us that we’re part of something bigger than ourselves and that our collective effort can create real change. Whether it’s through events like the Ergathon, Pride WODs, food drives, or community fundraisers, these moments allow us to use our strength, both physical and collective, for good.
Giving also builds perspective. It grounds us. It shifts the focus from what we’re chasing in the gym or in our own lives to how we can show up for others. When we give our time, energy, or resources, we reinforce the values that strengthen our community: kindness, inclusion, compassion, and empathy.
At CFB, we give because it matters, and because our community is built on showing up for one another. We believe everyone deserves access to health, stability, and belonging. For many of us, myself included, who have experienced the power of support firsthand, giving back is how we pass that same care forward.
What makes giving at CFB powerful is that it’s shared. It’s never about one person; it’s about our community choosing to show up together, small actions compound. A few dollars, a few meters, a few donated items, each one matters because together, they create real impact.
Thank you for showing up with generosity and heart. Thank you for being part of a community that believes that this fitness community is more than just training in the gym; it’s a vehicle for positive change.
Giving is part of who we are at CFB, and it’s something I’m incredibly proud of.
