Reflections Before the New Year

So much of life is focused on the future… and if you’re anything like me you’re always thinking two steps ahead.

What’s the next move?
What should I be doing better?
What needs to change?

New Years can often be a time that amplifies this. While I’m not a big proponent of new years resolutions, there is something satisying about the reset to the year and high energy to make plans for the verision of you that lies ahead.

But this year I’m making sure that instead of spending all my time looking to the futuer, I’m also looking back with curiosity, reflection, and appreciation for the year that just passed.

What am I grateful for from this past year?

What am I most proud of?
Where did my time feel best spent?

Where did I waste time?

Who helped fill my cup?

What gave me the most joy?

Whether you’re someone who chooses to set goals or not, I think there’s power in pausing and reflecting over what the last 365 days has been for us.

Now, here’s to hoping for less unprecedented times in 2026 😉
