If you’ve been thinking about trying CrossFit but worry you’re not in shape enough, you’re not alone. It’s one of the most common reasons people hesitate to walk through our doors.
Here’s the truth: You don’t get fit to start CrossFit. You start CrossFit to get fit.
Why it feels so intimidating
CrossFit has a certain image. Scroll through Instagram and you’ll probably see people lifting huge weights, doing pull-ups on rings, handstand walking, or flying through intense workouts. It looks impressive, but it can also make CrossFit feel completely out of reach—like it’s only for athletes or people who are already in amazing shape.
That’s not what we do at CrossFit Burlington.
We work with everyday people who want to move better, get stronger, feel healthier, and build confidence in their bodies. Most of our members started from scratch. You won’t walk into a room full of pros—you’ll find a supportive community of people just like you, showing up and putting in the work.
You don’t need to be fit to start. You just need a place that knows how to help you begin.
You don’t need to “get ready” to start
Our workouts are built to meet you where you’re at. Every movement can be scaled to match your current ability. That might mean lighter weights, simpler versions of a movement, or focusing on form over intensity.
We also program with effort in mind. Some days will challenge you. Others are about moving well and recovering. The goal is consistency, not exhaustion.
You won’t do this alone
You’ll be supported by experienced coaches who know your name and care about your progress. You’ll be surrounded by people who remember what it felt like to be new. No judgment. Just a community that shows up, works hard, and has your back.
