The Girls

‘The Girls’ are short, intense singlets, couplets, triplets, and chippers that epitomize CrossFit programming.  They measure and benchmark performance and improvement through regularly repeated, but infrequently scheduled appearances in the daily programming.  Consider The Girls to be CrossFit ‘tests’.  What we do in our regularly scheduled daily programming will prepare each of us for these tests.  Improvement is imminent when giving maximum effort daily and will reflect on test day.  Improvement performing The Girls equals improved fitness.

The Girls are combinations of gymnastics, weight-lifting, and mono-structural movements, each workout demanding a distinctly unique metabolic stimulus.  Some of the The Girls workouts can be completed in only 1 or 2 minutes, while others are longer, lasting up to 20 to 25 minutes or more, with most lasting somewhere between.  All of them require little to no equipment to perform and ALL are EXHAUSTING!  Don’t be fooled by a pretty name, these workouts are the bane of many CrossFitters’ existence.  Don’t believe me?  Well, I guess you haven’t met ‘Angie’ or ‘Fran’ yet.  🙂
